Dhokra which is known for its rich tribal craft, and became one of the nerve centres of Dhokra craft in India. Initially it was done by tribal people. It is a very old form of craft and practiced in several of parts of Orissa. The metal used for this casting is brass followed by lost wax method. Dhokra is an alloy of nickel, brass and zinc. It is comprised mostly of scrap metal, so it’s also eco-friendly. The process includes, Core making on clay, detailed wax module, Coating of wax on model, De-waxing, Casting, Finishing & Polishing.
